Sure of your role in the L&D ecosystem?

Image
We've finished designing the state of the art learning event. We need to address the execution of the design. Sure, if we were the designer and the executor, it would be better. But, most of the time, we find that the execution is the role of a trainer, or rather an instructor, or maybe a facilitator?? Is there a difference between them, and what type is best for our design? Inspired by the online chat on the FB group @Training Designers Club, I've decided to write this informative article to help training designers match their designs to the right training executor. Basic concepts regarding officials in the world of training: Training designer Professional L&D practitioner. Their job is to build the learning event from A to Z while understanding the organization's needs, the appropriate and most fit event time-frame for the organization, and also an understanding of budget constraints and technology. Also, understanding the main messages to be conveyed in instruction...

Image

Big-data & Thick-data - My take on an article

I read the article, and it is fascinating. It reminds me of a puzzle that has only two parts, and yet, nobody can complete it. Big-data does not exist without thick-data, although modern approaches rely almost entirely on Big-data for making decisions. I once attended a lecture about AI and its characteristics, and I learned that AI has its limitations, especially when it comes to identifying patterns that are not on the 'highway' of the total data. That is the area where Thick-data comes in hand. As a CI person, you'd always want to merge these kinds of data and cross-check big-data by thick-data and vs. So, although this article is interesting, I don't see anything here but the obvious and the explanation of the right way to conduct any kind of serious intelligence research. https://medium.com/ethnography-matters/why-big-data-needs-thick-data-b4b3e75e3d7

fincen-files-financial-scandal-criminal-networks - comments

Although FIN-INTELL is not my leading interest, this article made me astonished with my mouth open, left me glazing at the screen for some additional seconds after finishing reading.   It is clear that despite all efforts to stop or reduce the scale of smoking in our society, the addiction to nicotine overcomes. So is in the case of the Banking ecosystem, where the addiction for money trafficking overcomes any ethical, judicial, or moral considerations. The fact that Governments collaborate with Banks to preserve the country's economy and money fluidity at all costs are disgusting, but at the same time, it is understandable. From the intelligence perspective, one might argue that despite the boldness of Banks and criminal actors, as long as there is a regulates arena where the government can monitor and, occasionally, decide on persecuting one of the criminal actors it may be better than a situation when all the bad-money runs through hidden channels, away from the offic...
