CI methods — Using searchmybio on Instagram to find the first campaign leads



We often want to launch a new campaign or develop a new channel to reach new potential buyers. One tool I want to demonstrate in this article is called “searchmybio” https://www.searchmy.bio and it is dedicated to finding “Hubs” on Instagram. The meaning of “Hubs” is influencers on a predefined subject.

So let us assume that we have a new client. It is a new travel agency aiming at the middle east market and especially travel to Egypt.

Step one — find Instagram accounts of influencers on the crowd in the matter of travel in Egypt. In this case, I decided to look for travel bloggers who have been or intend to travel to Egypt. (see picture below)

As you can see in the pictures below, the site offers 2 options to order the results. The first is by the relevancy of the results and although it is not clear by what algorithm they define relevancy, we have to accept it. The second is by the number of followers and here notice that the order of the results changes but it doesn’t mean that the most followed account is the fittest for our needs.

Step two — I chose to go with relevancy and so I need to explore the account of Orange Wayfarer. As we can see in the picture below she is a travel blogger and her next trip is to Egypt. She writes a lot every week and she has a fare engagement rate of 9.6% we can learn that she has 16.3k followers and that she follows 1647 accounts.

Easily we find a link to her blog https://www.orangewayfarer.com/dhanushkodi-ghost-town-india filled with a lot of content about her past travels and future travels. For us, it is like a Gold Mine and I do not think I should explain here why.

For me, to try to talk with Madhurima would be a perfect start to check if she intends to go to Egypt soon and if so than if there is a chance to match her goals for the travel with my client`s goals.

Step three — My advice is to never stop after the first good result. always check for another option. and here there is the account of Zoe | Together In Transit. This account is very interesting because it belongs to a couple traveling together around the world and blogging it. There account is very active with a 9.3% engagement rate. They have 938 followers and they follow 801 accounts. In comparison with the former account discussed here, they are less relevant although followers and following numbers can be improved in some other ways. One can notice the link to there blog www.togetherintransit.nl and there, again, a gold-mine for CI persons. (see pictures below).

Conclusions — As I believe in understanding your buyers first, I tried in this article to simply use free software on the Internet to search for the first leads to the segments I wish to approach in my new campaign. Understanding that Instagram is a very “hot” channel today, especially for young people, led me to start there. I showed how can CI persons do quick and free primary research to get the Starter for launching a new campaign.
